Writer Hired & Iron Fist Cast For Marvel Netflix Series

Posted by on

Iron Fist has remained a mystery since it’s announcement with various rumors floating around the internet but no solid information. It was once said that the series had been abandoned but Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television, came out to say:

“There was a lot of speculation about what was going on with ‘Iron Fist,’” Loeb told Comic Book Resources[1]. ”Because [fans] hadn’t heard anything about it, but there’s never been any change at all.”

There was also talk of the corporations being turned into a movie with Jon Bernthal’s Punisher taking his place in The Defenders and previous casting rumors suggested Scott Adkins taking the title role after being introduced in the Doctor Strange movie alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.

Now, however, firm news has come from Twitter that Scott Reynolds, the Jessica Jones writer, will also be writing for Iron Fist. Reynolds updated his Twitter description to be:

“Marvel/Netflix Iron Fist writer and former Jessica Jones, Dexter & The Following writer. Host of Dexter Wrap-up and Following podcasts.”

Luke Cage actor Mike Colter also told Collider this:

“The actor has been cast, but he’s in a basement somewhere. When the time is right, they’ll let him up and tell him where he is. I am [excited]. I’ll get a nice little break, after doing Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Whether I’m in [his show], I don’t know, but there’s The Defenders.”

The only description we have of the series that the character will be in are:

Marvel’s Iron Fist – “Marvel’s Iron Fist” follows Super Hero and martial arts master Danny Rand in the upcoming live-action series.

Marvel’s The Defenders – “Marvel’s The Defenders” brings together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage in an epic Super Hero team-up in New York City.

The premier date for the solo series is yet to be announced but speculated to arrive early next year after Luke Cage’s solo series later in 2016.
